Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and sometimes stylized with uppercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well reviewed by various music websites. She's recorded a variety of well-known songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which have been widely praised. Her name was also recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic then becoming enthralled by the sounds it produced. Her parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for an occupation or pastime but for growth. For this reason she wrote her first new compositions. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as a love for Bjork's style. She began performing her songs publicly when her mother suggested that they can help other people, not be famous with her work but to make people see around them realize the importance of their work and how they impact the world. She started playing piano when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. The family members didn't know about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora's accomplishments were never her goal. The only thing she loves is writing songs. For her music, it is the most effective means of communicating anything.
